Delight

Friday dinner at Medzs! Bumped into so many people in town that day.

We ordered a few things and the first thing we collected was this bowl of $5 soup. I believe it's some kind of mushroom soup, which tasted as bad as it looks. We agreed that it looks like a dishwashing sponge that's soaked overnight, the kind that you find by your kitchen sink. Sorry for being so honest. :(

The rest of the food were not fantastic either. There are some good reviews online though. Maybe I just don't know how to appreciate it. :( I would prefer Marché anytime.

Hhaahahahaha we look like strangers here?! Or like recently acquainted individuals. And why is my left hand at the back? I look like a very helpful waitress who decided to join in for a quick shot. How's the food?

It was such a joy meeting my sa friends! I was so excited because it was the first time seeing them in more than a year. :O 08A02. It looks so distant. Strange familiarity.

It’s always sad to know that yet another friend is gonna study overseas. I’m not very comfortable with supposed words of comfort like “friends come and go”. What do you mean “friends come and go”? It holds some truth but I think it is stupid. It is a stupid excuse. It hangs around our tongues, and becomes the cliché that we use on ourselves and everyone else all the time.

Friends come and go and we know it like the back of our hands. Friends come and go, and we think it doesn’t matter because this, like any other, shall pass. Friends come and go, and we think it is natural, like life and death.

But friends go not because it works this way. Friends go because somehow, along the way, someone decides to stop trying. Too occupied. Soon. Next time. No time. Busy. Sorry. Busy. Soon. Something on. Sorry. Silence. Silence. Silence. Catch up? Too late, we’re already a world apart. Awkward. Can't be bothered.

Why do we lose friends? Is this how it always works? Finding “better” friends and leaving the old ones behind? Someone said we can't have too many close friends at once, simply because we just don't have the time. Time? Time is what we make of it. (Admittedly, I'm not very good at this.) And distance? We just have to find ONE reason to stop trying, and it's gonna beat ALL the methods of communication technology has given us.

And we say nothing lasts. What a shame that is.
